Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra presents Retro-Madness:
The Music of the Beatles featuring the Rewinders

Friday, May 2, 2008 at 7:30pm
Founded just seven years ago, the BGCO is quickly gaining a reputation for quality and innovative programming.  Retro-madness: The Music of the Beatles is a prime example of this innovation and excellence.  If you think they play elevator versions of the classic hits, think again.  “The Beatles stopped touring when the recorded versions of their songs were impossible for them to reproduce in concert,” says Jeffrey Reed, BGCO Music Director.

Due to overdubbing of voices and instruments, it takes all nine members of the Rewinders and an orchestra to accurately reproduce what is found on the records.  “The Beatles were one of the first groups to use a symphony orchestra,” Reed explains.  “That’s one of the things that makes their music so special.”
