Retha Tarter is the Ticket Services Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator for the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts.  She served as a volunteer before becoming a full-time employee in 1996.  Retha is a Board Member of Kentucky Arts Council.  She represents the KAC as a Board Member of the Appalachian / Kentucky Artisans Gateway Center Authority.   

As a Director on the Board of the Madisonville Community College Lions Club, Retha coordinates the MCC Lions Club Annual Talent Competition and other fundraising events.  Proceeds from these events fund scholarships and eye care for MCC students. 

Retha was named the Mid-West Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross “Exceptional Volunteer of the Year 2007 – 08.”  She was the Madisonville Business and Professional Women’s Club 2005 “Woman of the Year”, the 2006 Madisonville Lions Club “Citizen of the Year” and is a “Kentucky Colonel.”
